Dear all:

A brief update with brief details from a brief Field.

CURRENT 93: ‘MY NAME IS NEARLY ALL THAT’S LEFT

This 2-track CD, dreaming David Tibet as Gramary and Andrew Liles as Electricity, consists of two different spoken word Channellings of the text of I AM THE LAST OF ALL THE FIELD THAT FELL, with voice by David and music by Andrew. 500 copies were made in a three panel fold-out sleeve with paintings by David Tibet and design by Ania Goszczyńska, screenprinted on both sides in white and red on black card and inserted into a vinyl sleeve screenprinted on both sides in red. 500 copies were made. £8 each plus postage and packing.

CURRENT 93: (CHANNEL) 12"

A 3-track vinyl 12" was made to accompany our recent Channellings in Germany, England and Denmark. The three tracks are very different remixes by Andrew Liles and David Tibet of two tracks from our recent album, I AM THE LAST OF ALL THE FIELD THAT FELL, “I Remember The Berlin Boys” and “Spring Sang Dreamt Larks” as well as the original version of the final track, “I Could Not Shift The Shadow” which had vocals by David Tibet, rather than the vocals that Nick Cave later contributed. 500 copies were made in silkscreened sleeves featuring paintings by David Tibet and designed by Ania Goszczyńska and are inserted into a PVC cover silkscreened on one side in red ink. The disc itself is black vinyl with full colour labels. 250 of the sleeves were printed in white ink on black card, and 250 were printed in black ink on white card. There is a limited number still remaining. £10 each plus postage and packing.

David Tibet and Norbert Kox exhibition

I am OverMoon to be having a joint exhibition with my friend and inspiration Norbert Kox: www.outsiderart.co.uk/kox.html http://apocalypsehouse.homestead.com/http://nkox.homestead.com/ at Armand Hein’s Galerie Toxique in Luxembourg. I and Norbert will also be showing some recent collaborative pieces we have made, five of which are shown here, and we will both be attending the open view on 4 June, 18.00 until 20.00. The exhibition closes on 30 July. Thank you to Ruth Bayer for the photograph of Norbert and me in London’s ChinaTown, taken in September 2013.

‘Mighty in Sorrow: a Tribute to David Tibet and Current 93’

This book has now been released as a physical paperback—with an amazing cover by the wonderful Aleksandra Waliszewska—as well as in a Kindle edition. The advertising blurb states “A literary tribute to a true visionary. David Tibet has been a poet, artist, and musician for over 30 years and has influenced countless other musicians, artists, and authors. In this anthology, those who have been influenced by Tibet and Current 93 try to repay this debt in literary form. Authors include Thomas Ligotti, Joseph Pulver Sr., Daniel Mills, Michael Griffin, Robert M. Price and lots more.”

Though I couldn’t possibly comment…

Aleksandra Waliszewska: three new books with contributions by David Tibet

My friend Aleksandra Waliszewska has three new books out. Two are new and improved editions of her PROBLEM and SOLUTION books, both of which have rewritten introductions by myself which differ from those in the (sold out) first editions. There is also a very limited special edition which also includes signed prints, a T-shirt, a tote bag and badges.

The other book is titled GOLD HANDS TREMBLE and is published to mark an exhibition by her at Galerie Leto, a beautiful paperback designed and published by Fontarte in Poland; it is available from them at www.fontarte.com/. This latter book also includes a tribute I wrote for Aleksandra as well as a piece by Warren Ellis, amongst other contributors.

I was very happy indeed to spend some time with her on my recent visit to Warsaw.

‘Life Child’ the Ramases box set out now

I received my copies last week, and I am (uncharacteristically) speechless. It really is stunning, and I am OverMoon that my paintings—including one appearing as the cover—are included in the package and that some brief liner notes by me appear in it. I advise everyone to rush to get a copy as it was made in a fairly small edition. To purchase, go to www.stormvox.com where it will ask you to email info@stormvox.com to purchase a physical copy of the 6CD package (limited time price of $39.99 plus postage and packing). To purchase a digital download from iTunes go here.

Selket from the band sent me a very sweet photo of her, and wrote to me as follows:

“I was at the Quay Theatre in Sudbury with some friends, and my friend Heather Attwood said, ‘It would be lovely to take a picture of you coming down the stairs, holding your box set.’ I was wearing these clothes when the postman brought the parcel to my door. They are exactly the same colour as the cover of the set.”

New edition of ‘Sing Omega’ imminent

As the original edition of SING OMEGA, the book of David Tibet’s collected writings, sold out so quickly, I am doing two new editions, one identical (almost) to the standard edition, which I hope to be published in about four weeks, and the other, which will be published later, in a very different format. I hope the latter will be published before Christmas.

Frank Zappa CD with label designed and painted by David Tibet

My belovèd friend Mark Logan has recently released an expanded edition of a live album by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, ROXY BY PROXY, an expanded version of ROXY AND ELSEWHERE. The promotional text Mark sent me states:

Roxy By Proxy is an unreleased 75 minute live disc taken from the run of shows that made up the Roxy and Elsewhere album. There is also a 32 page booklet featuring a track by track commentary from Ruth Underwood! Exclusive art by David Tibet adorns the disc face. This edition is limited to 1,000 copies.

The CD costs CDN$16.99 plus postage and packing and one can obtain copies here.

Thank you and Love,

David+++
